Blown by artisans in the 1920s era, these are recovered Japanese glass floats cleansed and blessed, repurposed into witch balls which was the tradition in the 18th century.
Hollow glass balls have been suspended in the windows and trees of homes for centuries to ward off evil spirits. Evil spirits are attracted to the beauty of the ball, and upon touching its surface they are pulled inside and become trapped within the sphere, thus protecting the home from any harm.
